Honoring Korean Armistice Day – July 27, 2025
“Freedom is not free.”
On July 27, we pause to reflect on Korean Armistice Day, marking the day in 1953 when an armistice agreement was signed to end active combat in the Korean War. At VFW Post 9972, we proudly honor the brave American service members who fought on the Korean Peninsula and recognize the lasting legacy of their sacrifice.
🕯 Why This Day Matters
Often called “The Forgotten War,” the Korean War claimed the lives of over 36,000 Americans and left many more wounded or missing. These heroes stood in defense of freedom during one of the most challenging conflicts of the 20th century.
Korean Armistice Day is a time to remember those who served with courage and to educate future generations about the cost of peace and the enduring strength of our veterans.
